WILDSCAPE MEMBERS HELP IN EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT AT KINGS POND

Eagle Scout Candidate, Christian Pajusi of the Village selected a very difficult project.  He organized the cleanup of parts of King's Pond, a neglected Wildscape in our Village.  King's Pond has been degraded by debris and waterfowl.  Large stands of the invasive plant, knotweed, prevented streambank stablization.  Christian and his crew did an amazing job, removing debris, pulling up knotweed installing plastic liner and mulch, and replanting with verbinum in the selected area.

Wildscape members were asked to help, and we did!  We also contributed to the cost of the plantings, thus ensuring streambank quality.  The residents of the King's Pond area were extremely grateful, and also came out to help during the very hot two day effort.

Congratulations to All!  This is true community spirit.  We can clean up our areas, one section at a time.
